In this poem Wilfred Owen is making an account of what he has seen in the war and his emotions are pushed to such an extent  that he starts to question the meaning of war, almost to the point that he would question God. Wilfred Owe personifies the sun and makes it out to be the great and mighty creator of earth and yet it can not bring back a single man who he has come across in an open field
